This is our take on the first shrub we Adam ever encountered, made by his friend and former colleague, Lou. Mixing local strawberries and blackberries together with secret spices and french baking herbs, the flavors blend to create something that is both sweet and savory. But don't let this tasty treat fool you, the ACV still comes through for the nose as a reminder to all the health benefits it holds. Some of our favorite uses for this shrub are to take a 1oz shot to alleviate acid reflux, heart burn and indigestion, anytime of day, as it works within minutes and tastes awesome.
This Berry shrub is also fantastic over a kale/spinach, goat cheese, cranberry walnut salad - but even better on its own over ice or mixed with seltzer if you can believe that. It can be used to great effect with sweet vermouth and soda water, as well as vodka or aged rums. Our Berry&Herb Shrub was also an ingredient in the "Pickle me Pink" cocktail, which won the 2017 Boston Fermentation Festival Cocktail Contest. So take some home and enjoy to the fullest!
