We absolutely LOVE our shrub and have tried using it in LOTS of different drinks and dishes over the years... Every one of these recipes has been created with great care by our founders; they've also been tested and approved by our whole company!!

OUR NEWEST NEW FLAVOR!!!

RHUBARB & GINGER

Happy Health Hummus 

Shrub Tahini (Makes extra):

2 oz Rhubuarb Ginger Shrub 

3 Cloves of Garlic

1/2 cup Sunflower seeds

2 Tbsp Olive Oil

-Blend all ingredients in food processor until it becomes a paste

Hummus:

2.5 Tbsp of paste you just made 

1 Can White Beans (Cannellini)

1 Lime's worth of Juice

1/4 Cup Cilantro

2 Tblsp Olive Oil

1 oz Rhubarb & Ginger Shrub

Salt & Pepper to taste

1 Tsp Toasted Onion Herb Mix (this can be replaced with onion powder & italian                                                      seasoning)

- Add all ingredients into a food processor and blend until smooth, or desired consistency. 

-Serve with chips, crackers, bread, on sandwiches or spoons...Enjoy!

 

BERRY & HERB SHRUB

Berry Good Onions

1 Yellow Onion 

2 Tbsp Butter

2 oz Berry & Herb Shrub

- Saute onions in butter on low heat for 30 min until caramelized 

- Reduce heat to simmer and stir in shrub

- Simmer for 3 minutes

- Tops just about anything!!

Nuts over Kale

1/3 bunch local kale

1 cup local spinach

4 oz goat cheese

2 oz walnuts

2 oz dried cranberries 

1 medium yellow/sweet onion OR 1/2 cup Fried Onion Topping

4 oz Berry & Herb Shrub

- Rinse and Chop greens, combine in large bowl and toss

- Add teaspoons of goat cheese sporadically

-Cut sweet onion into strips and sauté in 2 oz Berry & Herb shrub until golden or otherwise desired texture, and add to salad OR

- Chop walnuts, mix with cranberries & fried onion topping and shake over salad

- Drizzle your creation with remaining 2 oz Berry & Herb Shrub to dress!

Simple Berry Glaze

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

2 oz Berry & Herb Shrub

- Mix sauce with shrub and pour into your still hot, uncleaned pan

- Keep on lowest heat while stirring to deglaze after any sauté

- Once the sauce has cooked down to a thicker consistency, pour over sauté

1 Soda Water

1/2 Italian Sweet Vermouth

 - Combine and enjoy!

There Be Berries 

1 Berry & Herb Shrub

1 Aged Rum

1 Cocci Americano

-Stir and Serve Up with a lemon twist

 

CUCUMBER & SPICE SHRUB

East meets West

1/2 Dozen East Coast Oysters (preferably MA or ME)

2 oz Cucumber & Spice Shrub

1 shallot, diced

Cracked black pepper to taste

- Soak shallots in Cucumber & Spice shrub for at least 10 minutes

- Add cracked black pepper just before serving

- Drizzle over raw or grilled oysters 

Get it on the Greek

A few pieces of Romaine Lettuce (optional)

1 Cucumber

1 Large Carrot

1/2 Red onion

4 oz Feta/ Cotija cheese

Kalamata Olives

2 oz Cucumber & Spice Shrub

1/2 pint  Cherry tomatoes

Cracked black pepper to taste

-Wash all produce accordingly, and cut romaine into small pieces

- Slice cucumber into thin rounds

-Cut red onion into strips

-Shred carrot into thin strips

-Cut the tomatoes in half

- Combine all previously processed ingredients with cheese and olives and toss

- Dress with Cracked Black Pepper to taste and Cucumber & Spice Shrub... enjoy!

Cucumber Cooler

1 Cucumber & Spice Shrub

1 Soda Water

1/2 Dry Vermouth

- Combine and enjoy!

 Bread & Butter

1.5 Dry Gin

1 Cucumber & Spice Shrub

1/4 Lemon Juice

-Shake & pour

NECTARINE & SPICE SHRUB

Slammin' Salmon

2 Salmon fillets 

1 Avocado

1 Nectarine

1/4 cup Yellow Onion, chopped

1/2 cup Tomato, chopped

1 tsp Garlic, minced

3 oz Nectarine & Spice Shrub

1 tbsp Lemon juice

1 tsp Black pepper

1 tsp Salt

- Chop avocado, tomato, nectarine, and onion. Mix with 1 oz of shrub

- Mix garlic, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and 2 oz shrub in bowl

- Pour over salmon and rest refrigerated for 30 min

- Grill to taste and top with salsa 

Tasty Blues

2 Handfuls local Arugula, rinsed 

3 oz Gorgonzola Cheese 

1/4 cup Almonds, shredded

1/4 cup Red Onion, chopped

1 Peach, cubed

2 oz Nectarine & Spice Shrub

-Combine all ingredients in bowl, toss, and dress with Nectarine & Spice shrub 

Nectarine Noodle Salad

3/4 cup Crispy Wanton Noodles

Gorgonzola or Roquefort Blue Cheese

1/4 cup Almonds

Romaine & Iceberg Lettuce

2 oz. Nectarine & Spice Shrub

-Rinse greens and dice into small pieces. Toss together in large bowl

-Chop almonds and top greens

-Crumble cheese and spread over salad mix

-Top with crispy wanton noodles and dress with Nectarine & Spice Shrub

Cocktails: 

Shrubosa

2 Prosecco or Cava

1 Nectarine & Spice Shrub

- Combine and enjoy!

Derby Dash

1.5 Sweet Bourbon

3/4 Nectarine & Spice Shrub

1/2 Dry vermouth

Dash Orange Bitters

- Combine all, stir and top with bubbles

 

SPICY PINEAPPLE SHRUB

Pura Vida Rice

1/4 cup Pineapple Chunks

1 cup Cooked White Rice

3/4 cup Black Beans (cooked & drained or canned & rinsed)

2.5 oz Spicy Pineapple Shrub

1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

Black Pepper and Salt to taste 

Cilantro to garnish

- Cook rice and cool

- Mix all ingredients into rice and stir thoroughly

- Place over low heat and stir until hot

- Sprinkle chopped cilantro over the top and serve ...Its even better a day or two later when reheated!! 

Elzar's Mango Salsa

1 Mango

1 Avocado

1 Tomato

1/2 Yellow Onion

1/4 cup Cilantro, chopped

1 tbsp Lime juice

2 oz Spicy Pineapple Shrub

Black Pepper and Salt to taste

- Cube the mango and avocado

- Dice the tomato and onion

- Combine with lime juice and shrub

- Rest for 30 min refrigerated and serve 

Spicy Strawberry Salad

1/2 or 1 cup 'Mi Nina Jalepeno Agave' Tortilla Chips

1 Medium White Onion

5-7 Large Strawberries

Spinach & Boston Lettuce

2 oz Spicy Pineapple Shrub

-Rinse and chop the greens into small pieces, toss together in large bowl

-Cut the onion into thin strips and mix with greens

-Dice the strawberries into quarters or smaller if desired, mix with crushed tortilla chips and top the salad

-Dress with Spicy Pineapple Shrub!

Cocktails:

Fort Point Piracy

1.5 Gin

1 Spicy Pineapple Shrub

1/2 Lime Juice

1/2 Soda Water

- Combine and enjoy!

The Spiky Agave

2 Blanco tequila

1 Spicy Pineapple Shrub

1/2 Mango Nectar

2 Jalapeno wheels

1 Strawberry 

-Slice fruit and shake all vigorously; pour

 

TANGERINE & LAVENDER SHRUB

Summer of 'Gus

1 Bunch Local Green Asparagus

1 tsp EVOO

1 tsp Lemon Pepper

2 oz Tangerine & Lavender Shrub

- Sauté asparagus until tender

- Add lemon pepper and Tangerine Lavender shrub

- Simmer for 3 minutes and serve

Local Cheek

4 Local Halibut Cheeks

2 tsp Cilantro

1 tsp Ginger Root

1 clove Garlic

1 tsp Soy Sauce

1 tsp Sesame Oil

1 tbsp EVOO

2 oz Tangerine & Lavender Shrub

- Whisk together all ingredients except cheeks and olive oil 

- Heat oil in pan to medium high

-Saute cheeks about 2-3 min per side 

-Reduce heat and cook until flaky

- Drizzle with sauce and serve

Tangerine Dream Salad

1/2 cup Lo Mein Crispy Noodles

1 Medium Yellow/Sweet Onion

1/4 cup Almonds

2 Fresh Tangerines

Romaine Lettuce & Mustard Greens

2 oz Tangerine & Lavender Shrub

-Rinse greens, chop slightly and toss together in large bowl

-Cut sweet onion into thin strips and Sauté until golden or other desired texture, let cool and mix with greens

-Dice the tangerine into small pieces and mix into salad

-Chop the almonds and mix with lo mein noodles, top salad and dress with Tangerine & Lavender Shrub

Cocktails:

1 Tangerine & Lavender Shrub

3/4 Soda Water

1/2 Cocci Americano  

- Combine and enjoy!

1.5 Vodka or Reposado Tequila
